From Ray,
My wife and I had three children and where very busy with the business I ran in Stevens Point. We often could not get away or had to change plans because of work. Because our time off was limited we needed a place that we could come at a moments notice and just enjoy, no reservations. I did not have time for mowing grass, nor did I want to put in docks.
I wanted my own place where I could be ready to have fun. My boat at the marina waiting for a day on the lake. A place my wife could come with the kids and I knew that she would have the support of the marina staff so she could take the kids on the boat. We could be there in two hours enjoying a campfire or a evening swim in the heated pool with the kids before bedtime.
This is the best value in getaways.

We have been coming to Indian Shores for the last 28 years. The reason why we started was because of all of the activites for the children, and it was safe. When they were young it was the playground, then it was the heated pool and mini golf, switched to volleyball and tennis, finally to the sandy beach of Tomahawk Lake which included water skiing, fishing and all the action of the lake. We never asked the children if they wanted to go to Indian Shores they begged us to go every weekend.
For my wife and I, the most important thing was we were a family and doing things together and enjoyed watching them grow and mature. Today they are now bringing the grand children for the same great learning experience.
Over the years my wife and I have had the opportunity to become friends with some of the wonderful people. We have developed the feeling of being one large family. We enjoy doing social things with all of our neighbors, as well as lending a hand if needed. And the great thing about it, is you are meeting new friends every year as Indian Shores grows. So many people have asked, " why did you purchase your lot at Indian Shores?" and I answer them because it is "HOME".

We are living proof that you don't have to go far to get away. A few years ago, we looked for campgrounds that could handle a "BIG RIG" and still have the campground atmosphere. After serveral, we found Indian Shores Resort. It wasn't a stranger to us, as some of our best friends raised their daughter camping at Indian Shores. When they joined us over the campfire they had a great time reminiscing. Now, here we are owners of "a little piece of heaven". We fell in love with the remote campsites as we are out of the kid scene. The in-ground heated pool and activities are only a bike ride, walk or drive away to reach the action. The lake, which is part of the chain, gives us a little ,or alot of time on the water. The convenience of having everything we need right on site is a big plus for those of us who have no desire to venture once settled. We have involved our family and they find the same relaxing atmosphere. They used to laugh at me when I said I didn't leave the campsite for days at a time. We think it's the perfect for what we want in a getaway.
